Nursery Road Trip!

I will be driving from VA to Oxford Mississippi then to Orlando this summer.  Are there any nurseries that are must sees?  Then I will be flying to Santa Cruz and Tacoma--any musts there.  I wish nurseries sold cuttings as I can't haul pots back.

Edible Landscaping in VA.  if you can take a detour on the way to Orlando, hit Just Fruits and Exotics in the panhandle.  If you're coming down I-75, it is "almost" along the way (take 319 down out of Tifton, and run straight through Tallahassee).

i'd try and hook up with JD on the way also ;)

Love Edible Landscaping.  Try to make a yearly pilgrimage.  Who is JD?
And I'll use any excuse to get off the property in Orlando.

Guys at Cloudforest can probably clue you into nurseries in the bay area.

lreiley,

I am a forum member who happens to live in Tallahassee with a modest fig collection. The last few days here have been absolutely beautiful. 60s rising to 80 with 50% humidity and a breeze. You are welcome!

Meanwhile, Just Fruits would be an excellent visit. The fig trees are out of the greenhouse and looking GREAT! Here in Zone 8B (and at Just Fruits), the greenhouse makes a tremendous difference. How much of a difference? Well, I just could not resist purchasing a few fig trees (Images #1&#2 LSU Improved Celeste and Images #3&#4 LSU Scott's Black) when I was there about ten days ago. About six weeks about, I bought a Smith from the discount area for something like $12.99 (last image).

When I up-potted, I started air layers...my preferred way of propagation.
