I'm going to be mentioned in the NY Times this weekend in an article about dead fig trees in Brooklyn this Sunday. I'm anticipating a lot of traffic on my website http://flatbushfigfarm.tumblr.com/ and I wanted to recommend a few fig growers that have some winter hardy fig trees in stock for all the potential buyers. Does anyone have inventory right now? And want to sell directly to customers? Please email me with your website or contact info if you are interested in being mentioned. I will do a blog post listing a few sources that have inventory and are ready to ship winter hardy varieties direct to customers....Thanks,Nelson
wow, good business...my best wishes Nelson :)
Aaron,thanks...Which varieties do you have that are winter hardy on the east coast? I can mention them specifically.
Yes, I have inventory in stock, and am willing to sell to prospective customers...PM for more info.
See my PM about the Calliope's Red Greek plants we have for sale.
Nelson, Let us know when the article comes out. Hopefully they'll also have it online and you can post a link in this thread.Cheers,Jim
http://nyti.ms/1s4jz9O Btw Nelson congrats on the publicity and good luck! I agree wholeheartedly-figs are remarkably resilient and very hard to kill to the ground here in NYC!
Hi Nelson Excellent article. I grew up in Brooklyn and that's where my fig adventure began..nice shout out to the forum too. Hope we can meet up some day Coop
In Maryland I had 100% of my figs die back AT LEAST to the ground. About half of them died completely. They were even in the shed :\.
Interesting article. I see you updated your web site a bit too Nelson. Good luck with your trees.Mike
Great article Thanks for sharing
Interesting, thanks for posting.
