NYC fig nurseries

My family and I are going to in NYC this next month and I am looking to buy some fig trees. Can anyone in the NYC area tell me what nurseries would be worth a visit and what varieties that might be available.

Bill's Figs in Flemington NJ has a big selection. It's at least 1.25 hrs to get there from NYC

I've lived in NYC all my life and I cannot think of any nurseries/garden centers that might sell figs in NYC...that's if you mean in Manhattan, specifically. If you are driving, and don't mind a little traveling, Bill's Figs in Flemington, NJ would be about your best bet.  Some garden centers in Queens, on Long Island, and in Westchester County might have a small selection of varieties, but after the freezing winter, most nurseries might be sold out.  Even if you manage to find any retailers selling fig trees, you are likely to get only "Brown Turkey"; "Peter's Honey"; "Celeste"; and "Kadota".

New York City, proper, is not really the place to go fig shopping.  Sorry I couldn't help you with your fig quest.  Enjoy your visit.

Frank is right. Garden World and Verni's in Queens usually have a good selection of figs. Garden World did not have a single fig two weeks ago-probably they sold out due to high demand after major damage to fig trees this winter.

Also within driving distance, at least for West coast folks would be Zainos on LI and Bill's figs in NJ.  Things have sure changed since I left if The Bronx and Queens will speak to each other   :)

I don't know about Manhattan but know at least 20 nurseries in Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island selling fig trees.
