Competiton in the 2013 Philadelphia Flower Show, the largest indoor show in the world was completed earlier today. There are 3 competition days during the show and the last one was today ( show ends Sunday March 10) I made 143 entries and received 74 ribbons for my efforts. 12 first place 20 2nd place, 24 third place and 18 honorable mention. Almost all of my entries consisted of cacti and succulents. I mention it here as others have shared their other interests. Long before I became a figguy I was a succulent guy. I am exhausted and thankful for the results and the help of my friends with the entry process.

Congrats. I made it to the show a couple of times while I worked in NJ. I always enjoyed it. The market across the street is one of my favorite places.

Congrats very peaceful looking. Do you have any cacti pictures? My favorite  are the cacti. I had to get rid of most of my collection because my kids would find them. I  really miss my cactus. I had a five foot by seven foot in ground desert scene that was my little get away place. Really miss that. Good times.

Must have taken a lot of prep work and time to wind down.
Went to the show a few times when Jane Pepper was there.
When will you introduce a container fig competition ?

One of these days (I mean years!...) I should drive myself (with family I can drag along..)
down to Philly/PA to enjoy these famous plant/flower show(s).
I have read/heard only good reviews - is it 1 or 2 separate/different shows?

... and while being there; I already know of a good restaurant to dine in ...

BTW, that Fockea.eclutis plant you gave me during one of our fig-meets is fabulous (thanks)!

Would love to have you down to the show George and I think you would enjoy it very much. Lots of really cool plants to see and some of the best growers. Little John, those are very cool, but not one in the show, I wonder why lol
