oh fig whizzes ID please #2

This is a fig I found in Zephyr, Texas. It was growing alongside a fairly decrepit old house and appears to have been doing such for many years. It did split but not sour during a period of heavy rain and the taste is mild. I have only had fruit this year but the parent plant had piles of dried fruit under it last year which, when bottled up with some bourbon made for some very fine drinking. The soaked fruit is going into cakes.

Thanks!

I like your coin..no ideea what kind of fig is.

Ha!  I even looked at Condit and Starnes studies, and I couldn't get it.  I was really happy somebody posted.  But it was about quarters..........

We are missing a few in our little collection of quarters!  We have over half the states............

Going to be a pill and bump my post. Anybody? And the coin is nice but my little cat is nicer!

Alexis, I have no idea but it sure looks good, another great find. Take care in your searches for figs.

Since I am now the proud owner of one of these important fig trees, how long did it take to bear figs?  Since this is so rare, I think we should put it on ebay and maybe retire with the proceeds, LOL

Thx again,

Very funny Danny. Now that I have met you I suspect you were a problem child ;)
I took the cuttings last October and have a few in 5 gallon pots that bore this year.

Not so much, more as an adult, LOL
