oiling Breba

Has anyone ever oiled a Breba fig? Has it worked? I'm just curious to see if it would get I have some large Breba in the stagnant stage. I'm waiting to see some kind of ripe fig to confirm my suspicion of the variety. If i'm right it's getting the boot, so the sooner the better.

Never had the need to oil breba's eyes.
I would suggest full sun exposure and to avoid excessive irrigation.. trim it down  as far as you can.

Weather may not be very helpful in a couple of days in your area, so a small green house could help

Good luck

Thanks, they are in full sun and the heat kicked on this week... I guess I'll just wait and see.

Hi 71GTO,
Be patient, don't oil or you'll get deceived by the outcome.
Figs need time to get perfectly ripe.
If you oil, your figs might be good for jam or cooking, but they will be inferior for eating raw.
I'll never oil - I prefer to wait a bit more .
