Ole Reliable

My EL. Sals just today started to swell a few figs and 2 weeks behind by the time i start eating ripe figs as we had cold winter as i have posted, coldest garage temps my plants ever saw , cold rainy spring, and one of the coolest summers on record heck temps will be in 70s for next 7 days just like last week grrr. But this plant has always done well in production in my containers, i root pruned this along with trimming the canopy this past late winter .

Martin first let me say congrats and nice looking figs. Now to my question did you root prune this as hard as you did the HC and is it holding its figs well? If you did root prune as hard, do you consider that the HC was bigger for lack of better words and that is why you are having that problem this year?
Thanks

Sal, i root pruned this tree as hard as the Hc, but i like the Hardy Chicago figs a little better so i did not trim its canopy to match which i should have.
Sals is holding the figs as they are just starting to swell and not just turn real dark first and no swelling.  Thanks for the congrats although my part is pretty easy in the scheme of things!
