OMG!!!

As I newbie who just started this adventure with figs last Nov. with free cuttings generously provided by members and buying others on eBay and from sources and going through all that is required to guide the plants to fruiting I tasted my first ever fresh fig this afternoon. I see now how one could easily become a "fignatic".
My Black Marseilles produced  its first fruit that I watched grow larger and larger. I hesitated in harvesting until today and I guess I timed it correctly. It was absolutely delicious - a soft jammy jelly like consistency with a sweet almost strawberry taste. I'm forever hooked. Thank you ladies and gentlemen of the forum.

Congratulations on your first fig. Good job, and may there be many more to come.

Way to go my friend. No pic or you just couldn't take the time. LOL

well rich may the addiction grow. the figs get better with the trees age kinda like wine.

Congratulations Rich!

Muahahahahaha!  Forever will they dominate your destiny.  Glad you enjoyed it.  May you have many more.

Way to go.  I still have trouble with the whole patience thing and eat more before they are really ripe than I do ripe.   Still the occasional ripe one makes me want to wait until i am faced with an almost ripe one and you know if you leave it on the tree an animal a child a grandchild could get it.  Maybe it's just that I am really selfish and not a lack of patience.  I don't know.  gobble gobble gobble no maybe I am a glutton.  I just maybe need help.

Glad you love the figs though.
