On vacation & fig trees

Hello all, so Im on vacation in Melbrone Fl and I stop at Lowes and see they have a few fig trees on reduced for 1.98. I buy a couple, one for my cousin that lives here and 2 for me. I don't know what kind they are but hey for 2 bucks. I prune them down and shake the dirt off to ship them home and two of them have little nots on the roots. Will this spread from one pot to the other? If so what about the fresh cuttings I took? Thanks

Cuttings should be fine. The knots on the roots sound like RKN. I'd air layer the plants when you get them home and pot them up. RKN is kinda hard to get away from unless you start over.

Are there any grower tags on the pots or plants?  If they were grown in Apopka they are going to be Magnolia figs.

Yes WillsC they are from Apopka

Post picture. Could be slow release fertilizer.

No fertilizer, I washed all the dirt off to ship them bare root

Sure sounds like root knot nematodes..cuttings would be fine.

Opps, I was wrong the trees from Greendale nursery in HOmestead fl
