One Root Makes Me Happy! Figue d'Or

Isn't it amazing?  Like the birth of a child?  When a cutting shows only one stiff white root?  Makes my day!

Today I discovered one cutting in sphagnum moss (gifted to me from a special member/friend) of Figue d'Or AKA Doree AKA Goutte d'Or with ONE root!  Obviously, I will wait for more prior to cupping up, but here is what my research found about this one... you might want to add to your wish list:

A very sweet variety with thin skins that can crop in both July and October with large fruits of some 70-80gms. Quite a dwarfing habit for a fig and very cold resistant. Also known as Goutte d'Or, it is a prolific fruiting tree!

And there you have it!  How can one stiff white root make a girl so happy?

Suzi

Yay!

I had a similar feeling when I checked on my Madeleine De Saisons cutting last night before bed. No roots, but I see initials :)

Aw no pictures of it ? lol

Martin, sigh...  I dug it out of it's happy rooting place and took a photo just for you!

It's a tiny little root, but it IS A ROOT!  There are 5 other cuttings in the baggie with the damp sphagnum moss, and I expect roots on all of them!

I see huge initials on mine (creeping white initials), and Madeleine De Saisons will definitely root!  Woo Hoo!!
