Optimal cutting sizes?

I just received about 25 3-4 foot cuttings from a friends fig tree today. They were moving so I asked for a few cuttings off the tree before the final day. I didn't expect so many nor so long! These cuttings are beautiful! I hate to have to cut them down but I don't know if I can sucessfully root such large cuttings? What is the longest cutting I could make to ensure the best success?

He said this is a very large white fig that just started growing in his yard a couple years ago. Probably a bird dropping? He said the fruit was very sweet.

TIA,
Sue

I like 7-8". The fit in my ziploc bags, USPS shipping cartons, and my 20 oz clear cups.

All you need now is an acre of land from another friend to start a fig orchard.

I guess 10" could be an optimum size (in my view) if you chose to do the rooting first before potting in growing soil.
