O'Rourke fig and leaves

Here's the O'Rourke with the leaves.

Here's the O'Rourke fruit. Very tasty with a nice crunch.

Those are not O'Rourke leaves, and you should have known that.

Oh yes I remember this post now.

they can call it what ever name they want. It is a very tasty fig still.

So , if it is not O'Rourke is it Improved Celeste ?
Do we know what it is most likely to be at this point ?

My 2 month old tree leaves started from cuttings looks like BASS pic's. My cuttings came from  source in LSU. I will
take pic's today & hope my 1st pic posting will come thru. I am most encouraged by BASS comments thats a good tasting fig.

It is a good tasting fig indeed. The size is small but sometimes the small figs can be sweeter.

I also have a supposed Improved Celeste, leaf shape and fruit match what you have pictured. Like you said it is a very good tasting fig. Mine is only 2nd season and fruit drop was about 60-70%. It has taken a break now but it still has many green unripe figs on it and it is not dropping as many. It seems like they dropped when they showed a little color, the ones that dropped turned more grayish then brown and fell. I will give one more season. If fruit drop decreases then it will be a keeper.

I have a supposedly O'Rourke from James Robin and one from Jeff LeCompte which came directly from LSU.

Below are two pictures of figs with the O'Rourke on the left and Celeste on right.

On the left is a leaf from the James Robin tree and the one on the right is from Jeff LeCompte (LSU)

The one from James Robin is in it's second year and gave me a couple of figs which were great. The one from Jeff is only a yearling I think, and its growing like mad since he gave it to me a few week ago and I up potted it.

The first picture is the dominant leaf on my O'Rourke. The second is another improved Celeste that I have. 1/2 of the leaves are lobed and the other 3-lobed. None of them ever 5-lobed. There are a few improved Celestes out there.

Glad that finally somebody is making some sense about the subject; thanks
