I certainly doesn't look like an osborn prolific, maybe Brunswick. if it's an unknown fig, there seems to be a few European varieties with that shape leaves such as Doree, Dalmatie, Bianca Clabrese, and few others.

In Jons varieties under Osborn  not Osborn Prolific 3rd section 3rd row 4th pic the leaf shape looks similar I will post again if and when it fruits. It is very frustrating to say the least, my wife does not understand why I get so mad and I guess she is right if it tastes good so what, but I tell her I would eventually like to trade and don't want to mislead anyone and then she tells me I don't need any more trees... She changes her mind when she is eating them though. HA HA Then she wants more

PS Gene Colin if you read this does yours look similar I believe we had the same source

Sal I just looked at a picture of mine and it looks like yours. When I go home for lunch I will check it out again to make sure I was looking at the right picture.

This is a leaf and fig from Edible Landscapings Osborne. Had rust colored figs with yellow flesh. Whether or not is Osbourne prolific?

Gene thanks for taking the time and posting, leaves look similar to some extent but not as skinny as mine in a side by side pic.Mine look  more like Scott's pic. I guess a number of factors could be involved. Big questions??? How was the taste? Open eye? And did you have rain when that was ripening? if so, was it affected by the rain in your opinion?
Scott same questions if you don't mind
Ok .. I went out and looked at 3 trees, same variety, same soil, and leaves look different on all 3 not that much but enough that you & I can see differences
Guess I just need to CHILL and Enjoy like my wife Said

OP is very sweet. There was a brix test done by Ken Love -- its sweetness score is very high. We like the OP we have and it is quite reliable in my zone 6/7. I look at the leaves & the suckers have leaves like your tree. The mother tree have leaves more Gene's

Sal, I wish I could give you a taste report but alas, it did not fully ripen. I went out one day and notice it had really darkened and started to give when squeezed. That's when I took the picture I posted. A few days later it had softened more and darkened more so I attempted to take more pictures. I tried to balance a quarter on it to show it's size but when I put it on the fig, it broke off and fell. I split it open only to find that it hadn't ripened at all. I did take a taste but it was no good. In my disgust I failed to take a picture only remembering after I had thrown it away. We'll have to wait until next year.

Thanks to both Gene & Paully for posting back. Figs are fun, funny, strange, and different and sure can be frustrating at times... BUT BOY THEY SURE ARE GOOD WHEN THEY ARE GOOD AND BAD WHEN THEY ARE BAD (JUST LIKE WOMEN, BUT I LIKE THE OTHER AT ALL TIMES)

SLAP TO THE BACK OF THE HEAD

Now that is some funny and I have to agree.

I just looked real close at my potted plants to see if they needed a little water, and they did. I also noticed that my OP has shot out a shoot from below the soil line and it is growing nicely (2 1/2") at the expense of the original shoot which looks to be going dormant. My Strawberry had already shot out a shoot from below the soil line (10") and now it has about 6 little fig sprouting on it. I think I will pile a little more soil around the base of each and when I get ready to put them in the ground I just might have 2 plants of each. What do you think?

Gene If you can get two in one shot go for it.... As far as figs go I think the same would apply (WOW TWINS)

Every man's dream! This is getting deep Sal and I can't swim.
