A safer, albeit slower way to lower soil pH if you need it is to work some sulphur into it. There are soil bacteria that slowly convert this into sulphuric acid lowering the pH, but it's a lot easier to handle and store.

i got them at a place called berries plus. it looks like it's same place as real florals or somethin. price and shipping was reasonable after getting two of 'em. i see you found the thread in GW :)

I've planted Tif, Jersey, and a couple other varieties without any consideration for the soil here (red clay and pine trees all around). Only the Tif has been happy with my decision.

Isn't Muriatic diluted sulfuric?

I have experience with muriatic for non-gardening uses and would simply amend or buy tif rather than use acid.

Link on the first page to "new pest" doesn't work for me.

Nitric acid can also be used with a great success.

This is all great information.  And couldn't come at a better time.  I just placed an order yesterday for pink lemonade and sunshine blueberries.  After reading all this I went and placed an order for sweet crisp, sharp blue and springwide. 

If anyone is looking for plants Florida Hill Nursery has them posted along with Burbee for some other varieties.  Also there are some great three in one apple trees intended for low chill hour locations....   

Be careful with Florida hill.....he ripped off a bunch of people by selling them sweetcrisps that weren't.   The plants are tiny..you can do better.

I eat blue berries every day -- grown from my garden. Would be adding a few more trees
to the garden.

Some very good blue berry varieties here are TORO, SPARTAN, CHANDLER. But the next wonder
berry is HASKAP aka HONEY BERRY. I have Tundra & Indigo Gem. Would definitely add 4 more
bushes very soon.
