so, 4 out of 6 BB came in. 3 looks like 1-2 yr old plant. two were in their own pot, so i just watered it and let it rest. one of 'em was tiny plug. other was without the pot. 

now plug, i'll just put it into new soil without doing anything. 

the one that's older, do i need to bare root before using my soil mix? 

i guess since they are all young, i would pinch off the flower buds and cut some cane to 1/2 of the height. and will do something like that next yr too.

No need to bareroot.  Yes remove the flowers and cutting back the height is a good idea.  Too bad I didn't know you wanted the sweetcrisps earlier......these 2+ foot tall sweetcrisps, $5 each:)  Bought a bunch for friends.
