O/T Che berries

This is the first yr I had lots of che berries on my tree. They were yellow about the size of a marble and were far from ripe. Today, every one of the berries were gone. I thought che had no pests. There are numerous thorns so I don't know who took them. I see a feather in the tree so perhaps a bird but why would they eat unripe berries.

Anyone growing che have experience with this? Any chance for more berries showing up this yr?

I am sure you checked the ground, but young Che very often drop immature fruit. Mine is just breaking bud now, and will not have ripe fruit until close to frost. I can't imagine what would eat them at such an early stage, how long ago did it flower? The flower itself looks like a starting fruit, just like a mulberry, but they can fall apart fade and you will not see much of anything. Is it possible you just had the flower that faded? If they looked like the pic that is still a flower and could easily just fall apart.

I checked the ground and didn't see any. It's strange that every single one of them are gone. Also, I never saw flowers. I was wondering about that. I just saw small fruits forming one day and I was checking quite often. If you've got pics of the che development at some point, it would be helpful as there is very little info out there on che.

Out here in the desert we had a jump start because there was no hard freeze this winter. I have hundreds of figs on my trees already but none ready to consume. I find that they ripen slow here and by summer, the east coasters somehow catch up and they get as many figs as I do.

I added a photo of the bloom It really looks like a young fruit, but it can basically just fall apart and fade to nothing. Just as mulberry flowers which they are related to look like a immature berry.
