I went to Boston this weekend and visited the Harvard Museum of Natural History and there was a neat display of glass plants made by two glass artisans in the late 1800's... worth checking out if you can get over there, or here is the link if you'd like to read more about it: http://www.hmnh.harvard.edu/on_exhibit/the_glass_flowers.html

All of the examples were BEAUTIFUL but I took some pictures of the fig! FIGured everyone would appreciate these... hard to believe they're handmade from glass:

are they Plastified? like those German Scientist's cadavers made by Plastification method to preserve the specimens? "The Bodyworks"

@Aaron4USA, nope they are made of thin pieces of hand shaped and dyed glass, sometimes with wire for support (as the veins, for example) but you are right they are reminiscent of the body world plastination look and method! Although not as eerie that's for sure.

yeah eerie for bodies but this ones are amazingly beautiful, hope one day I'll have few in my glass cabinet. Thanks for sharing. :)
