well for some few very lucky members, you will see a box filled with Sweetcrisp in your mailbox. fortunately for me, i was at home when it arrived. 

i have started growing very small number of blueberries bushes. i have been saying how long i would have to wait to taste them.. well.. i don't have to wait any more! WillsC has sent 32 oz cup full of Supercrisp to me in a mail x) 

man.. does are just amazing. huge berries, sweet, and very crisp. my older son tried it and says why is it so crisp? supermarket ones are mushy. lol.

Lol, Will is a great Dude! Thats the filet mignon of the blueberries Pete, your officially ruined, no store bought blueberry will ever compair! Last year for Mothers Day I picked some fresh Sweetcrisp and made chilled dark and white chocolate covered blueberries for my Wife, we both scored that day;)

I dont think my pH was quite right. have that rectified now.

I strongly second what has already been said about both Sweetcrisp and Wills. After tasting this incredibly unique blueberry, I've been looking for a source. I may have found one in Gainesville. Thanks for expanding my BB horizons, Wills.

I got my Sweetcrisp from Just Fruits and Exotics right near you. I see they show Out of stock, but they will put you on a waitlist to call. At least they have me for plants prior.

Wills has treated me like royalty!! Don't know how I'll ever repay him except to pay it forward. I'll never have those figs on his wish list.

Where did you find those Wills? Only one I've heard of is Col De Dame.

after the first tasted of Sweetcrisp, i started calling all over the place looking for ammonium sulfate. it's amazing how hard that stuff is to find around here. but finally found a store that sells them in middle of downtown of all places. will have to drive out there and get some. 

I wish I could grow Sweetcrisp, but I don't think they are hardy up here in PA. The threads on GW make me jealous.

grow them in the container :) it's amazing what you can grow in containers. i know a forum member that grows whole bunch of fruits in container up in PA. you just have to move them in and out of the garage. 

Wishful thinking, Pete! I won't even grow my figs in pots, let alone blueberries. Get 'em big enough to plant and in the ground they will go.

I'll stick to my blueberry patch I have out front, 3 highbush and 3 dwarfs. They look nice under my bay window: pretty flowers, great fall color, and the cats sit in the window to keep the birds away.

I third the excitement about Sweetcrisp and appreciation of Wills. It is called sweet crisp for a reason. Maybe it could be named Sweetcrisp.h (for huge) to capture all of its qualities.

Windsors berries are quite a bit bigger than the sweetcrisp but can't compare in quality. 

Now if we can just get Indigo Crisp.  ;)

I don't know if they actually have them or not but......the botanical garden site the picture is definitely not a sweetcrisp.  The amazon site that picture is tricky.....the person looks like they deliberately turned the berries so they were all calyx down or at least all of the ones in focus.  The leaves look like a rabbiteye.  The price is insane anyway lol.

My bet is another 4 years before the Indigocrisps are even readily available to the commercial folks.

i'm not sure what i have is Sweetcrisp or not. it came as such and it was very tall and leggy. i pruned it twice already. i got mine from berriesplus. will find out in a yr or two :)

I was lucky to get some sweetcrisp plants last Christmas (Thank you, Santa :)), and while still young, they seem to be good growers and do lean towards being leggy.

In California, it's virtually impossible to get the better, newer low-chill berries. Some like Jewel and Emerald are now turning up, and old standbys like Misty, Sharpeblue and Southmoon can now be found in one of our retail nurseries.

Mine are all grown in containers.

The Sweetcrisps are lanky growers.  The only place I know of that was selling fake Sweetcrisps was Florida Hill nursery.   You will know next year, blueberries fruit young.
