I was lucky to get some sweetcrisp plants last Christmas (Thank you, Santa :)), and while still young, they seem to be good growers and do lean towards being leggy.
In California, it's virtually impossible to get the better, newer low-chill berries. Some like Jewel and Emerald are now turning up, and old standbys like Misty, Sharpeblue and Southmoon can now be found in one of our retail nurseries.
Mine are all grown in containers.
