OT looking to trade for pear scion and gulf south advice

The internet told me that Baldwin, Biscamp, and Southern Bartlett are all good performers in southern LA.

The sources I have found are all grafted to Pyrus calleryana , rather than Pyrus betulaefolia, which is purportedly better in heavier, more alkaline soils.  Both have good fireblight resistance.

However, I have found  a source for Pyrus betulaefolia rootstock, and I'd like to graft some scion of the above or other recommended varieties for an espalier project I'm planning.

Given enough suitable varieties and a little grafting, I may even give my Frankenfig a run for its money.

Would anyone like to donate or trade cuttings of these varieties, especially, or others?

I have enough growth for cuttings of most fig varieties listed on my Frankenfig thread, and for quite a few of them I also have two yr old rooted cuttings.  I also have several cuttings from my LSU orchard visit almost a yr ago in the fridge that are likely still viable.

I'll cobble together a list tomorrow of the best of what I've got, but in the meantime, if anyone has any relevant advice about the pears, or has the varieties for trade, please post so I get a sense of how likely I am to get the scion I desire, or whether I may be better off just buying  the trees with the lesser favorable rootstock.  PMs are ok too.

Thanks

Hi i live in south louisiana. I have i huge pear tree its very old but its the cooking pear type. Dont know the name of it

well, thanks for the replies I received.  I've decided to order the rootstock and source my scion locally if I can.  I'll be getting some persimmon rootstock as well, so I may have a new thread soon. . .
