Like bullet, I am also attempting to root some Illinois Everbearing Mulberry cuttings.
Pic #1 is a two month old ie cutting, and this is how I will be rooting cuttings in the future. Cutting goes into a 1 gal pot with potting soil, with a plastic cup for a dome over the top. Easier (for me) than growing in cups, no early up potting requirement, and, (for me), a better success rate.
Pics 2 & 3 are ie cuttings in a plastic bin.. Growing medium is compost with straw on top to retain moisture. Bin is outside (unless it freezes), and remains covered for most of the day to maintain humidity. I have had good luck rooting figs this way, but transferring them out of the bin is hazardous to their roots.
Pic 4 is a little Morris Nigra seedling purchased on ebay in January. It stayed indoors in a pot until two weeks ago, when I planted it outside. The wire mesh fencing is to protect it from the ravaging hoards of javelina that roam our neighborhood at night.
