Thanks to the wonderful people on this forum since i started growing fig trees and learning about rooting cuttings etc.. i have grown an obsession with trying to root anything i can find.  i live in NY on LI and mulberry trees are all over the place.  i took off a couple branches and have started around 8/9 cuttings in the ground as of 6/21.  at the same time i found a cherry tree around the corner from my house and put about 8 cuttings in sphagnum moss and 5 others in soil.  keeping my fingers crossed.  if it works ill have many to trade or give away.  ill take some pics tonight/tomorrow.

I've had very little success with rooting Mulberries. They take much longer to root and usually dry up before any success.

I have a few cuttings from last year and I requested cutting from UC Davis this year. I use my Intermittent Mist propagation system to get them to root. I've had good luck with them rooting this way and air layers are by far the best way to go. It takes about 6 weeks for roots to appear. I did a short video of my Mist system on the ourfigs.com website last week.

Try this for me : put cotton (the white fluffy stuff to clean wounds ) around the cuttings and wet it.
Put it in the dirt in a shady spot and keep it watered - the soil should be wet/fresh but not damp .
Of course, remove all but the last two leaves on the cutting and burrow it till 3/4 of total length . I had good luck with some bushes propagating them like that.
