Bravo!!  I am deeply envious!  Joe

They look absolutely lovely and tasty. What's the 4th pic tomato?

their tags are burried  in mulch... I will dig them up when I am saving seeds for next year.

I grew new tomatoes this year, so the largest one could be an African Queen.

Wow, nice 'maters!  I have to know what the ones that look they grow in bunches are (last 2 pics)!

Nice, real nice, I love tomatoes with a slight acid kick.

they look perfect! nice selection too

Beautiful looking tomatoes, I too would like to know the tomatoes in the last two frames(the clusters)
Vito

Very nice Grasa! I jealous. I tried a new method of training the tomatoes this year and have had exactly none so far :(

Beautiful tomatoes. I just harvested a beautiful brandywine today!

Yes, they look beautiful.  I'm interested to know about the one that looks to have clusters, as well.

OMG, now I understand why you kept bragging about Tomaters...:)
They look amazing, haha

Congrats, Grasa! I planted my tomato last March (2013), it started producing in June same year. It ignored the winter, has grown to 30 ft or so and still gives me several tomatoes every week since.
A no-worry plant!

I am glad we have tomatoes in common. The cluster looking one is called Reisce, I got one single seed and when it started to grow suckers  I removed them and grafted onto other more prolific type. Now I have 3 plants producing them. Some clusters are small , others weird and others are huge... it is the main atraction here, but I have many others that are tastier. We just started harvesting some huge beefsteak (determinate), the plant is carrying some 30 pounds of fruit, and it is superdelicious.
My favorite in taste is a black Ukraine, small but with distinct flavor.
Andy, I am sorry to hear about yours, Some of these above came from those Colorado seeds.  Others came from California, and my latest batch came from far east, late, but the plants are catching up, they are 4 special blacks... I am looking forward to them.

I will be saving seeds and  am happy to share them with my cuttings when is time for  them to be shipped.

Hi Grasa,
Nice tomatoes. I'm now trying to raise some bigger strains as they are easier to slice for the salad. If you can, try "green zebra", "Black from tulla" .
I have some more of cherry type strains that I still keep for now as they are more disease resistant.

Nice tomatoes! I can't seem to get a break this year with deer and my tomatoes, so I will just admire yours! Have you tried Rose? It is a heirloom variety and great! Not much to look at but very tasty. Very meaty and low acid for those who don't like too much acid.

And jdsfrance, I have tried both of the ones you mentioned and both did nothing for me here. You might have the perfect weather for them to produce great tomatoes.

When I was a kid, I used to love mayo on my sandwiches. Not so much anymore. Even BLTs do not seem so appealing. I think this is due to the lack of acidity in tomatoes. I tried growing a few varieties this year, but the location I used does not seem to be so great. I've ripped out the grass in another area of the backyard for next year. I'm still looking for suggestions on varieties. I think I will have room for seven plants.

i found that few varieties do ok in containers and I am having fun with a couple of cherries on upsidedown turfy bags. They work great for them, however, they require frequent watering a little at the time.  Mine don' t hand down, they flip right back up and I tie them to the wires that hold the bag.   No comparison to the taste of the same growing in the ground.   I grow a beef kind determinate, that is the best for sandwiches, prolific, but mature all almost at once.  my plant has some 20 large tomatoes on.. Harvest one yesterday, had to be 2 pounds. We go through many.. we are going to get sick of tomatoes, I bring the excess to the kitchen that feeds the homeless.  So, there is no waste.

I usually add some habanero vinegar on my tomato sandwiches to compensate for the lack of acidity.

I had hopes for a high acid tomato last year when I grew Costoluto Genovese and Costoluto Fiorentino, but I was disappointed with the flavor and spoilage of the tomatoes before ripening. Black Krim are productive and taste good, but prone to splitting in my garden.Black Tula and Black Prince were productive and flavor OK.

I'm still searching for tomatoes with high acid content....

These Early Girl 50 tomatoes to the right have done pretty good this year with good flavor. The Indigo Rose on the left is the worst tasting tomato that I have ever eaten. They are only good for decoration or salads smothered in dressing.
