This is a bit off topic but I just wanted to share my Pakistan mulberry that I purchased the last month. It was shipped without any leaves. I kinda expected to have to wait until next year to get any fruit out of it. However it began pushing out leaves about a couple of weeks ago. And upon closer inspection I noticed that it was already pushing out fruit. I couldn't help it but smile. I've read that the fruit can grow up to 4 inches and have a taste similar to black berry. I'm really excited to watch this plant develop. Hopefully our summers are warm enough for it here in Western WA

Like figs, they will fruit on current year growth. They do taste good, you will like! The trees can get large but prune how you like, you will always get fruit no matter the type of pruning you do.

I started mine from cuttings. Out of 14, 2 took. One is stunted and the other is huge! One year old and plenty of fruit. It is very sweet! We figured out the emitter on the stunted one was clogged. Story of our drip system.......... You will love your tree! Suzi

I planted one in-ground about a year and a half ago. It is about 12 feet tall now and still haven't seen ripe fruit (unless the birds are keeping it from me). However, the 4 air layers that I made about 9 months ago are in 5 gallon pots and have given me some fruit samples. So far, I prefer the flavor of my Illinois Everbearing, but it's a little early to judge.

I waited many years to get one "Pakistan mulberry (white)". Finally I received one in 2013 and it grew nicely over two summer and had a few berries in summer of 2014. However, when stored in the garage for winter the garden mice chewed the bark from soil level to more than a foot up completely girdling the trunk including the root stock. That was the end of it (for now).

The Persian mulberry or other Morus nigra varieties will taste more like blackberries, because they have a touch of acid that contrasts with the sweetness and adds to the overall flavor. The Pakistan mulberries are just sweet and mild tasting. It's good, but I like the Morus nigra better for its full berry taste. The fruit have to be completely black to have their peak sweetness.

I grew up with a huge, regular-old, ancient mulberry tree in my yard. Yum. And lots of drunk robins every summer. ;-) Maybe I'll try planting a mulberry here one of these days.
