OT Random Succulents and Chicken Coops

So this morning, after my devastating journey through the figs, I was looking for a flat spot (on a steep rocky hill) to put a small 3-chicken coop.  NO ROOSTERS!  We had just put LSU Scott's Black in ground, and I wandered through the pine grove south.  OMG!  There is a flat space between two HUGE boulders with the chain link fence behind.  I know any Bob Cat with an appetite can easily scale that fence.

So the plan is JD should get a BIG shed, and we can keep the small chicken coop in that with his mid-slope tool supply.  Then we build a chicken yard, covered with chicken wire, put a compost heap in there loaded with worms so they will be happy all day pecking and scratching, and then they come into the shed for the night.  That's the plan.  For 2 fresh eggs per day is it worth it?  I think so.

Anyway, I found this beauty growing in one of the rocks that protects the flat area.  I'd love to move it to a better place, but I have no idea what it is.  Succulent of some kind.

Is this a bad plan, and what is this succulent?

At first glance, I thought Lamb's Ear. But it doesn't look fuzzy enough. And on a closer look, those leaves look thick and smooth, exactly like what you say, a succulent.
