OT - Someone in zone 9 or 10 needs to buy this

Interesting read.wonder how they taste?

Melicoccus Bijugatus???? I think I had that once.

They are sweet with a good acid component. It leaves a little astringency on the tongue but it is so sweet, lively and fresh that you quickly forgive it. You eat it by first popping the thick taught skin between your teeth. The fruit bursts out of its shell and then you are off to sucking the sweet tart astringent pleasure meat off of its large seed.
Jamaicans call it genep.
Its one of my favorite West Indian fruits.

I used to eat these often as a kid. If I find a good batch, I'll buy it and it takes me back to those years. I found them to be sweet and tasty.
