I just setup up a compost bin in the back yard, then walked around the yard trying to find things to put in it.
I have a 25' China Berry tree in the front yard (grew from a seedling) that drops it's little white berries all over the place. I thought about raking up the berries and putting them into the compost bin. The berries are poisonous to humans, if eaten in quantity.
Just wondering what effects that compost (9 to 12 months later?) might have one fruit trees, namely my figs. I certainly don't want figs filled with neurotoxins..
I read that the tree has an ingredient very similar to the Neem tree. It would be cool if compost made from this would inhibit fungal gnats.
