used to practice kendo with retired army capt.. he's from hawaii, but he went to NCSU. he used to tell me how he kept his rolling rock in a freezer just enough to get nice layer of ice on the top.

rolling rock used to be very popular here about 20 yrs go. i haven't seen much of them lately. i'll have to look for them.

it hasn't gotten to that point here.. yet. but with heavy wind and temp in mid 70, soil is getting dried quickly and the leaves are drooping. i'm still waiting to set up my drip system. have to think about it little more. 1/2" main line and run 1/4" off of it with drip system. have to get some stuff done before june comes along.

Pete I did the drip system for all the smaller pots and hanging baskets last year.  Its real easy and you are right on size of the line.  Start with a 1/2" line and then just use the 1/4" line with the micro sprinklers.  I like the adjustable heads that spray 1/2 gal to 10 gal / hour.  To make it easy just start at the faucet and work out from there.

just poured a pint of Kona Big Wave. i love this things. taste just like grapefruit juice. lol

Big Wave, that is the beer on tap we were having at dinner tonight.  Good stuff!

Arcadia brewery from Battle creek MI.

Hopmouth

Yummy!

battle creek... my kendo sensei lives there now. teaches economics in one of the private college there. he came to america and decided to stay. he's amazingly good.

spring is in the air and i'm off for the rest of the week. well.. i'm working friday. yeah.. yeah.. yeah.. it's holy holiday, but i'm work for corporate america.

so.. i'm still on cider wagon. tonight's drink menu is.. well.. not much of menu. CIDER! enjoying Angry Orchard Crisp Apple. on the dinner menu.. NY strip, petite cut, asparagus (it's in season!), and spring salad.

what can a man do? weather is beautiful.. have to grill :)

Violet de Bordeaux !

I tried.  ; )

not drinking beer tonight.. jack and diet coke. i need to watch my youthful figure.. god.. time flies..

Last night at trivia tried Terrapin's Maggie's Peach Farmhouse Ale, quite refreshing on the patio after digging up three large azalea bushes to put in two pomegranates. I don't think I've had a Terrapin that I didn't like...

If you like bourbon, I was recently introduced to one called Big Bottom. I don't think I've had a bourbon with that much complex flavor before, lots of caramel and vanilla! Perfect with some Red Rock or Blenheim hot ginger ale and fresh lime juice.

Pete,

I'll be sipping some real coffee soon.

Kona!
Direct from Hawaii. Non of that pimped version we get here in the states. This will be the real McCoy!

In the meantime, it will be Heineken tonight. Or Johnny Walker Double Black.

Rafed real kona coffee is a real treat compared to the kona blends I've tried. I wish I could drink it every day.

rafed,

haven't had johnny walker in long time.. last time i had that was when i sneaked a shot off my father bottle when i was much younger.. lol

Travis,

It should be a crime to the way they treat this coffee.
But you have to have a taste for it too.

Pete,

One day I will show you my liquor collection. I think you will love it.

my taste in coffee is rather.. lacking. as others say, i drink my milk with coffee. x)

Bottoms up

A few years ago, I spent a week on the Big Island with a friend, and every morning it was Kona coffee and fresh mangos for breakfast. It is THE best coffee. Tonight, an Eel River organic Blonde Ale.

cheers rafed :)
