Thank the Lord fresh figs don't taste like Fig Newtons.

They should change the name to "super dry tastes nothing like a fig... Newtons"

Or just Newtons

Those things are gross, and after being into figs for just two years, I might go postal if I have to explain that figs DO NOT TASTE LIKE THAT to anyone ever again.

Sorry, I had to vent.

My first tasting of a fig was the snack cookie, my second was dried figs, liked them both, but they did not inspire me to grow them. Fall 2013, got to taste my first fresh FIGS, lots of them, and I fell in love with them and knew I had to start growing them.

The "Newton" is after the town in Massachusetts. I think it's safe to say the lack of flavor is a reflection of the town, not the fruit.

I made fresh fig bars when I bought a bumper crop of figs last autumn. My kids crushed them. And they still love Fig (Paul) Newmans.

Now that's funny.

Nice video Dave but I don't think it helps Fig Newtons any ! Maybe if they start using black Madeira or RDB for the filling more people will like them!
Price will definetly go up ($5 per cookie or something) and then we ll have to buy them on eBay from you know who!
Sorry guys I couldn't help it!

That was good Chris

Thanks Arthur!
