@JD,it's whats for dessert,no bread required.<G>
@Tony,it's really quite a treat to wander around that 1/2 acre he's planted out.
Some of those fruits are best approached with caution,see photo six and below.
Others are far more approachable.
@Dan,Edgar's been crossing these guy's for many years.I don't think he knows how many
varieties he has back there.I tried 7-8 varieties and took notes for the first four,after that I lost discipline and just gobbled what ever was presented.
Jorge....very pleasant,delicate flavor,much better than store bought.
Edgar....this had the most acid so was bolder in flavor.
Tricia...No acid,very sweet.(named after his daughter,<G>)
Asunda..light and delicate with a dash of cinnamon.
@Ben,beyond amazing.His property is basically a low,triple canopy food forest.More thicket than forest.
Tomorrow,UCD will be hosting an all day event at 2 locations in Santa Paula that is open to the Public,Cost is $40.00 at the door.Free cuttings,lunch,fruit and pitahaya ice cream.
