Hi, My Dad is a Milwaukee-transplant who moved with his family to Redondo Beach in '63, then to Lakewood outside of Long Beach a few years later. Grandma still has the house off the Paramount exit of the 91 Freeway.
He tells me he'd ride his bike with his buddies over to Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park often as a kid. Though I was born up in Santa Rosa near San Francisco, we lived in Santa Ana (Orange County) for a few years in the mid-80s and had easy access to Angels & Dodgers games plus all the amusement parks.
Now I'm an hour south of there but still end up hitting Disneyland, Medieval Times, etc. with my own kiddies :)
