Hi All, Being new to figs and gardening in general I can't help in most areas... but.. being somewhat technical, I can help in shrinking photo sizes. Anyway little bit I can give back. so here goes: 1) Open explorer. 2 key shortcut: <Windows Key on the bottom left of keyboard> + <E> 2) locate and highlight the picture you want to shrink (Multiple pics can be highlighted by holding <Ctrl> key while clicking) 3) Right Click on any of the highlighted pictures ( This is the button on the right side of your mouse) 4) Select Send to => Mail recipient 5) You will be prompted with a selection box where you specify the size. choose the largest size under 1 megabyte = 1000 kilobytes (KB) 6) Click the attach button ****This will create an email with the resized photos attached Go to the attached photo in the email and save them back to your computer. 1) Right click on the attachment and select Save As. 2) Save with appropriate name. Once pictures are saved to your computer, you can close the email without saving as there really isn't a recipient. Now you are free to go back to forum and upload the resized photos. I hope this helps. Andrew

Hi Mario, Thank you for the offer. I met Mike over the weekend and he gave a few plants he had from his fig inventory. He said you were more experienced in fig growing than he or myself. Last year was my first year growing figs. Unfortunately, I think I went overboard an am now at full capacity. I have around 10 fig plants and 8 more ordered. I would like to meet and have a fig-sharing event. That sounds like it would be fun. I assume it would be late summer. hopefully I will have something to share. My Father Michael is a Porto from Hamden originally from Sherman Ave in New Haven. He was an only child and my Grandfather Andrew had a brother Pete who had just one child. So my Porto relatives going back to the 1950's can be counted on 1 hand. My Great Grandfather is related to Porto funeral Home in East Haven. My mother is an Elefante from Grand Avenue. Her father Ben had a fig tree growing in his yard, so I am following on in his tradition. My mom had a large number of brothers/sisters and all have passed away. Most people from New Haven knew my uncle Jimmy Dogs who passed away 10 years back. Out of all my family, he was the most colorful and I miss him. Looking forward to summer and seeing the fruits of our efforts! Andrew

Thanks, Andrew. Every bit is helpful. Especially for non-techy people such as myself. Lucky for me i have figured out how to resize & attach photos here already but it can be frustrating.
No such thing as overboard when it comes to figs...lol.
A fig gathering sounds like a great idea. Post pictures, PLEASE!
The fig tradition lives on!!
