Over-wintering figs, new additional to "Growing Tips"

Nice excerpt, thank you and Merry Christmas!

It's a great book well worth buying. I really enjoyed it.
Merry Christmas

I have my figs in an unheated garage. Two if them are in large SIPs and one is in a large nursery pot.
This winter the soil has been frozen solid on the top. The minimum air temp has been 27F but mostly it's been around freezing.
I'm still trying to figure out the best way to winter over figs.
I'm tempted to plant a "forest" with the big ones against the south facing brick wall of our house and then wrap them next year.

I bought the book from Steven Biggs this fall. It's a great help for every colder climate fig grower, as Steven lives in Toronto, Canada.

I love the fact that he doesn't say in the book: " this is the only way to grow a fig!", he shows there are more ways. Also Adriano Ferreira and Stephen Read share their experiences and secrets.
