P.Baud Figs

Hello Everyone,
Got my order from P.Baud nursery last week, Here are some of the pics if you are wondering how they look like when delivered. I must say very health specimens and Mr Baud is a very nice Gentleman, gave me his book for free as one of the fig was 10 cm short in height also asked me if I want refund .  IMG_3107.JPG  IMG_3104.JPG  IMG_2960.JPG  IMG_2959.JPG  IMG_2958.JPG  IMG_2956.JPG

Sounds exciting.
Can someone convince Monsieur Baud to open up a branch nursery on this side of the pond?

Hi kk2210,
What is the story written under the name of figs ?
Does it say that you got lucky because southern France got soaked under a flow of a meter of water end of last week ?
and your fig trees could have been swimming in the middle of the sea by now ...
Well, you've got them and that is the most important. They look healthy; just funny that they removed all leaves ... for shipping I guess .

I know CDDG (from pics) NEGRONNE (from pics)  Dauphine ( from a neighbor and I'm growing it  now )
All the others NEFIACH, ABICOU, BECANE, NOIRE DE BARBENTANE, SUCRETTE are unknown to me and kind of rare here around.
I guess that you'll be busy taking notes in the next seasons !
Always good to do some investigations on your own !
Good luck and I wish you plenty of figs !

Hello,

Haha, he did mention about the rain and due to that they had no electricity for few days. So they had to write the address and other bits manually as their printers were not working also sadly his wife is suffering from cancer and was going through a surgery . I got these last week but it took more than a week to get here as the courier couldn't find my parcel lol funny that . Anyway they always defoliate and in a way it's good that he defoliated the trees otherwise it would have lost the moisture . Most importantly they are all healthy. You have more access to different nurseries arround France . I tried to get in touch with few other nurseries but they never replied

I have been eating the Sucrette this season and I think you will like it!  I wonder if you will have a long and hot enough summer in the UK to ripen the Col de Dame Gris?  Maybe use a greenhouse?

Hello,

Yes that's the plan to grow them in a green house, I might just take them out in summer .
