PA Grafting Class

I figured I pass on the info for this class that's offered through the backyard Fruit Growers at Landis Valley Museum on March 28th. I already signed up for it.

If you joined the Backyard Fruit Growers, they have a free a.m. session for members.  Might be worth joining for future stuff.  It's only like $15 for 2 years.

Good to know! I was planning on joining... wish I had done it before I signed up for the $30 class.

PA is a long way from CA!  Go to the class, take photos (mandatory), and let us know how it goes.

Has anyone used the "Techniques of Grafting" DVD put out by the Orange County Chapter of the California Rare Fruit Growers? I've been to two workshops on grafting and found it helpful. The DVD is surprisingly listed on IMDb at: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0985675/ .Of course, now there are some great YouTube videos as well. I've had good luck with apple scions but not with other fruit trees.

Not to thread jack here but I figured many people form PA are looking at this.

Any one know any good nurseries for figs and other fruit near the Harrisburg/ Mechanicsburg area. Will be that way for a wedding this weekend. All the nurseries around me are pretty crappy.

Frank, you can try getting in touch with @timclymer at Threefold Farm and see what he has.  If you don't mind driving to Lancaster, contact @bigbadbill.

edit: both of those two are members on the f4f board.  I can't figure out how to link to their user profiles.

Thanks Johnny, I appreciate the link. I replied to your message, KK4FDU.

By the way, this is a good class to attend. I went last year, joined BYFG, and had good success. They have TONS of varieties available to choose from as well as other scion from what I remember.
