Hey All,

I had a question on my white triana.  It seems to have pale looking leaves which are almost yellowish.  It's had them since it broke dormancy in the house this spring.  As seen next to my Kathleen's Black.

I am not quite sure it has this hue of leaves, but i tranisitioned it outside and it never dropped the leaves it just put out a few more yellow ones.  It did have mites on it earlier in the season, but I don't know if that would do it

Has this happened to anyone?  Thoughts on what is causing the leaves to be this color?

The trouble with diagnosis is that it could be several things combined (like acidity and FMV) , I bet you knew this, and that is why you posted picture.  

I am speculating, it could be over-fertilization, or Calcium deficiency, the yellowing and the twisted burnt looking tips are why I say this.
Also if your potassium is high it can alter Ca absorption.

Hopefully more will chime in and get it sorted out.  Sometimes, flushing pot well, and re-fertilizing with low strength balanced ferts will help.

Fmv wouldn't cause uniformly yellow leaves.  It is most likely a nutrient deficiency as Don points out.  I would do google searches for diagnosing nutrient deficiency by leaf color.  This source indicates it could be sulfur and/or nitrogen:

Feed it with some Miracle-Gro and give it time. You made a great choice in White Triana. Take a look at mine in this post  Same source as yours.
My Triana was one of the last trees to leaf out this Spring but it has since made up for it. It's a vigorous variety.

Order some maxigro. Just went through this with a few small trees. They turned dark green and exploded with new growth.

What did you use as a medium ? Wood ?
Decaying wood absorbs nitrogen, so lack of nitrogen for me.
Yellowing leaves could be lack of sun or too much water as well .
Your KB has a different medium, so might be a problem from the potting medium .

I have found that when my trees yellow they need nitrogen so I feed and also dose with micronutrients. I use a dirties soil (farad #52 = pine bark, peat moss, vermiculite and perlite) though so depending on your medium this may or may not be a solution for you.
