Hi everyone,Does anyone know if there are any Palestinian fig varieties in the US? And if so where can I find them? Thanks,Jubilee
Hi jubilee. The Mediterranean region is full of great figs. I wish i could share some local varieties so I could compare to other varieties spoken about in this forum, But last time I told my sister to bring some cuttings to the us she was afraid of custums fine. I am sure other members have them in the us.
PM sent.

Hi,Eli, Thank you for your kind and encouraging words.Bill I replied to your PM.Bob, Thank you for the link. It will help me get some middle eastern figs. But he doesn't have any that are specifically Palestinian.Jubilee
Try contacting him at Bass@treesofjoy.com He's talked about having Palestinian figs before. He probably doesn't have enough time under his belt with them to sell. It's possible they didn't survive last Winter, though. He used to have Khurtamani, Byadi and Sbayi. Those are all listed as Palestinian figs in various places, but I can't promise they originated in Palestine. In the second thread another potential source of Palestinian figs is listed.http://figs4funforum.websitetoolbox.com/post/seeking-figs-from-israel-6136476?pid=1276230966&highlight=palestine#post1276230966http://figs4funforum.websitetoolbox.com/post/fig-orchard-and-varieties-in-palestine-3999529One interesting tidbit - One of our members was growing Byadi and Marseilles White and felt they were the same. That would mean that we imported Byadi and changed the name. PM me if you'd like a MW and I'll try to find it for you.http://figs4funforum.websitetoolbox.com/post/printadd?id=6136476&pid=1281611120
