Well the name game is one of my favorites, not.
Came across another opportunity to get some cuttings today, it truly amazes me how folks will invite you over to share in their gardens. Such pride of place is often given over to the Fig.
The offer was perfect as they could tell me the varietal name of each tree and some of its habits as I was cutting.
The interesting variety to me was "brought from Valencia, Spain by a rare fruit collector we know, and is called Bourjassotte Panachee "
I gather better known as Panachee?
Cool yellow and green striped fruit, while we were talking they pointed out a branch that had decided to forget the yellow stripes and go for green only.
Put a few scion of that branch in a separate zip lock, it will be interesting to see if the reversion stays, should.
Any reason why I should not keep the name I was given for these?
