Panachee! Where's My Stripes?

Here is a picture of a Panachee I picked today, skin was cracking so I picked before the ants got to it. Lost it's striping but not it's taste as it was very good indeed for first year. I have 6 more on tree that should make it in a few weeks. Also a few other figs I picked today, center fig in bowl is RDB, along with Conadria, LSU Gold, Sal C, MBVS, and of course my Black unknown.

One of these days I would like to post a pic like that one.

Sal, at least yours is close to color. My supposedly Panachee turned out brown and is a Celeste.

My Sal's unknown black has quite a few figs on it and they will be ready in a day or so. Looking forward to tasting.
"gene"

Florida Gold anyone (forget LSU)?...

... run baby, run....

Sal, can you please tell us which fig you like best. To me that's a bunch of must have fig variants. Thanks.

Great looking bowl of figs Sal! I would also like to hear a little on what you thought of  the flavor of some of those. I'm especially curious to hear your thoughts on the RdB.

Reverse is Panachee without the stripes. Panachee sometimes reverts to the all green fig it was before is was a striped fig. About 1/3 of my tree has done that. The wood will also lose its stripes at the same time. DNA at UC Davis shows 1 gene difference.

Thanks Jon, fruit was picked from same tree as 2nd picture. IMHO and not just pertaining to this variety in my climate it is not the day time temps in the 90's but the night time temps are close to 80 if not more, so there is no cooling off period and even more so from what I  observe being in pots. I have 1 in ground of same variety(Not The Panachee) and maybe it is just me but taste, size, and appearance are much better in ground.  This is just an assumption on my part of course

Bill  If you have the opportunity to get one than get it Very Good Fig Here
Gene If you have more than one getting ripe let one hold till almost shriveled or you think over ripe, unless you are drenched it will not sour Please let me know what you think good or bad
Paul any fig that is edible is a favorite to me, but like Martin( once you go black!!!!!) enough said, Even though I really like Conadria here. Lsu Gold watery again now with heat and night time temps
George, I have my challenges here also, but thanks for the CUDOS and your generosity

Looking good Sal. Panache is good tasting fig, but what is attractive with this fig is not the flavor but the stripes.

I have high hopes for some new striped varieties I got. One is a purple striped fig that is suppose to ripen earlier than the Panache and is bigger. Another is a striped Col de Dame.

Sal, I am glad to know Conadria taste good. In fact, R. Watts told me its most reliable for him, bountiful and good tasting. My brother in Malaysia(tropical climate) said the same.

Hi Sal ,
which are your black unknown in picture.
Thanks in Advance

Hi Martin, other than the larger blk fig in middle which you know is your Ronde the rest are the blk unknown and a few mbvs which look very similar in shape and size 90% of the blk figs are my blk unknown, lol I hope that helps
