Pananas Purple 2013

Pananas Purple. Received in March 2012 in a trade with texascockatoos. I was shocked by the unique combination of richness, sweetness, and depth of flavor of these two figs. I like a light to modest crunch and this one had it. My daughter really liked it as well. I need a few more to describe the taste. At that time, I will post a few photos of the tree and its leaves. It is potted, about three feet tall, open center with 3-4 sprawling legs. Meanwhile, you can see and read what Ingevald shared almost two years ago.

High on my wish list!

Nice looking figs there, JD, thanks for sharing!

A nice looking variety! I think it will be on my wish list this year

That is a lovely fig. Is that a jack next to it? If so I haven't seen a metal jack in years! :).

Wow JD that is a beauty !! My wish list gets longer and longer ......

A nice looking Fig, need to add it to my wish List
Mark

Hey JD!  Awesome pic man!  I have a hard time getting these from my tree.  Birds love them more than me!  They are excellent!  Gota place the bird tape out in a few days so I can eat more this year.

AEWSOME,  this must go on my wish list.

Thanks to Invegald for introducing this fig. Marvellously appetizing fig that I could have.

Thanks for the report on this fig.   It is a good fig and am happy that others have been enjoying it.   I am still hoping that someone will find a match so that we know what other names this fig goes by.   This fig did not just appear one day out of nowhere, arriving in Chambersburg, PA via the "stork..."

Thanks!

Thanks all...especially you Ingevald.

Smaritza,
Yes, a jack it is. Your revelation inspired an O.T. thread.

The first order of business is to pot up and hopefully encourage growth  over the next few months so that I can start a few layers and/or have some cuttings to share when next season arrives. I will keep you posted.

I've shown this fig to several people in my office today. There were a lot of oohs and ahhs.. I can't stop looking at it myself! I'm putting this piece of fig art
on my wish list .
Good luck with it .

That fig was meant to be photographed... and then enjoyed. :-)

Beautiful!!!
I NEED one if these!!!! ;-)

That looks divine!  I'll be adding it to my wish list too.  Looks like there will be a lot of competition for it if any come available.

Good looking figs on a good looking tree! Have you been training it to sprawl like that?
