Pane E Vino White

Well not the best of pics but flavor was outstanding. This particular fig was going next to the fence and as can see got a bit marked up from rubing agaist the fence.

An excellent flavoured white fig.

Nelson,
 Looks like a good fig.
Question is: What month did the main crop ripen?

Art

It's a really nice fig. The nephew of the previous owner of the pane e vino restaurant bought the restaurant and I stopped by and he resurrected these figs and we wrapped them. The garden was in such a bad shape.
This fig came from Sicily with the owner's grandfather. At one point there were initially 6 trees, as of now there are only two left, a dark and the white. They seem to most cold hardy of the 6 varieties planted.

Glad to hear your positive report on this one Nelson.

I appreciate hearing the story behind it Bass. Thank you for that.

I hope to get this one established this year. We shall see.........

that looks wonderful.. now, does that go well with bread and wine like the name?

Pretty. Isn't it cold up there? Hi Nelson

Jennifer

How does this compare with JH Adriatic, alma, atreano or other, similarly colored figs in terms of flavor, rain tolerance, earliness? Thanks.
