Bought this tree last year a 1' rooted cutting labelled as Paradiso from a reputable nursery.
It has grown well this year and produced a nice size long breba and also has a few figlets.

Seem to have picked it just right!

It was amazingly sweet and juicy.  I couldn't place the flavour profile.  I really enjoyed this fig!

Pino, is it Paradiso-Gene or some other? Grown in a container?  It looks great!

Hi Steve
It is in a 3 gal container with pro mix BX and some compost.
The name tag is just Paradiso.  I notice they don't have it for sale this year.

There are at least 3 Paradiso figs out there (Paradiso Bianco, Paradiso Nero and Paradiso Bronze).
This one looks like Paradiso Bronze.  See post below

Thanks

Looks great Pino. That is definitely different from Morle's Paradiso and also different from Paradiso Gene, which is Gallesio's Paradiso. Is it like one of Adriano's Paradisos I wonder?

Rafael,
The link above has a few discussions on this version of Paradiso (Bronze).  It looks like Herman has it among others.
Doesn't look like Adriano's.  I will ask my source where he got it.
It had a real amazing taste best taste yet for me.   I hope the main crop is similar.
Thanks

Wow what a nice looking interior. It looks like a Brunswick that went to finishing school. Thanks for sharing Pino and congrats for your fig.

Thanks Chris!

Yes I had it but it died in 2014,Winter.
It was identical to yours,Breba, the same,I had a few.
Very tasty and flavorfull,both crops.
Yet very much undervalued,i sold a few trees ,2 years old for under $40.
It deserves much better price, for the quality of fruits,it can ripe.

Thanks Vasile!
I am very glad to hear you liked it also!
Sorry to hear yours was a victim of the terrible 2014 winter.
How did it grow in ground?

Congrats Pino. There is Paradiso "Dusan" from Toronto. A good tasting fig. A
keeper here in British Columbia.

It grew just fine, but the Winter was very cold,so it died.
It has a mild case of Fig virus, and I think that is why ,lost battle with Winter 2014.

Paul thanks for that!
Looks like this fig originated from the T.O. fig gang.  Should I refer to this fig as Paradiso Bronze or Paradiso Dusan?

Thanks Vasile, Once it gets bigger and I have a backup I will try it in ground with winter protection.  There is a little sucker coming from the roots that I am eyeing for backup.

The main crop figlets for this Paradiso are ripening.  The main figs are round not long like the breba.
Found this one dripping honey so picked it this morning.
Tasted very nice similar to the breba but not quite as sweet except the flesh around the eye was intense.  I couldn't place the rich flavour profile other than a nice figgy taste with some seed crunch.

Thanks Francisco.
They are a nice size too and the tree is productive.  Wonder if these can be caprified?
