Interesting, my Paradiso is green (or white) outside when ripe.

Jon, this fig is green and red inside.  The lighting in my kitchen is not that good.

Dennis,

You are having a nice summer of figs. All things considered, I hope to have a similar summer of 2011. To get some 1st tastes of the more desirably known-to-be-good figs.

When you have a moment and the desire, I would be interested in reading - in a single post - about your opinion and comparison/ranking if possible, on the various figs that have ripened for you: Atreano, Black Madeira, Paradiso, etc. all within a matter of days.

Hi "Dennis",Yes The interior is the right color for Paradiso.
The Paradiso Adriano"s fig trees,in Canada,is selling is Paradiso Nero, that is the conclusion,he concluded recently.
I have a Paradiso Bronze wich does have a little more red to it on onthe side that the sun is facing the fig,and also I have Paradiso White from Gene Hosey,That is greenish yellow,on outside ,just like yours.
All these three Paradisos, have Identical leaves, identical delicious taste, and Identical interior, but the exterior color is what differentiate them.
Joe Morle Paradiso, has totally different leaves and is second type Paradiso, different than the three I mentioned above.
I am very interested to grow the Paradiso Nero, because Paradiso white is a little late in my climate,as are most white figs that require more heat units like in your climate.
Paradiso Nero,on the other hand get properly ripe in Canada so I see it more relyable in getting ripe for me.
Yes I was impressed too with the Taste of Both Paradiso I have at this Moment,no doubt top notch cultivars, that one should have.
