Paradiso Gene main crop.

here is the main crop i took off today. considering VdB as 5, i would give this 8. it was good size, juicy, bit of honey, bit of watermelon, good medium crunch, and at the end, had touch of nuttiness.

but i think it could have used 1 more day to be complete.

Wow that is a nice looking fig. Thanks for the pics Pete.

Looks great Pete. Mine is in its 3rd season and has not formed a fig yet.

Looks good Pete.

thanks guys. there are few more that's about to ripen. i'll let them ripe little longer and see if they will turn out different.

i have been eating 2-3 of this fig since i posted this. the quality of the fig is only getting better.

the taste is very humble. nothing impressive like VdB. there is no burst of flavor or overwhelming sweetness. but something about the fig is just satisfying. i can't really put my finger on it.

it has that lingering sweetness without over powering. it has touch of watermelon flavor, but not intense. it's good size, about 2-3 bites for me. it's very juicy, it's has medium crunch.. and few of them had nuttiness on the seeds.

at the moment, this is my favorite fig.

Pete, VDB Is a fine tasting fig. I too love and charish my VDB its productive and tastes very good a flavor that I will never get sick of.
