Doesn't look like Paradiso.

Looks more like Brunswick than anything. especially once you see the leaves.

Please use caution with labeling Giuseppe's Paradiso's as Brunswich, please. I also have a Paradiso which I aquired from a different source (family in old country)  but is exact same as the one as Giuseppe Morle sell.  Remember the name is used to describe a place that is beautiful or something very beautiful. I also have this variety but would not label it as brunswich as this is not what we have ever called it.  There are several Paradiso varieties all originating in Italy. You may not just be familiar with this particular branch of the Paradiso family of trees. :)) There are subtle differences which make is different than this brunswich called tree anyway, when observed longer and closer. No worries Maggie, I'm not changing the label on it. I'm just saying it looks like a Brunswick, and I wasn't impressed with the taste. 

I know your not changing,? what was wrong with the taste?,  My Paradiso is one of the top on my list of flavored figs!  I love it soo much. Did yours get watered down taste which can happen with this variety. It does indeed look like a brunswick, but I found that the Paradiso is much more wavy within the leaf nodes, when mature, like a wavy strand hair, also when growing vigourously. Brunswich leaves are more straighter I believe, they more remind me of the Valle Negra, which it is not as V.Negra has dark fruits, delicious. When mature my Paradiso like said has very wavy difined leaves. fruit is similar, but I think that the Paradiso is larger.  

I've got a Joe Morle Paradiso, and it has begun to ripen figs here.  It is behind the Texas everbearing, the Italian Red, the Bayernfeige Violeta, Kadota and Hardy C. but it makes a nice big fig that is sweet when ripe. 

I suspect that it is later than the other figs just because the others are potted.  My in-ground Celeste is not ripening yet either, while Hardy Chicago is done, Black #1 is just starting. 

No question; the Paradiso has leaves similar but not the same as unknown fig you here tell me is Brunswick. 

My Paradiso has had four figs on it since I got it from Joe in July.  I've noticed they have started to swell a little last week, but no color yet.  I hope to be able to taste them later this month.

The tree has put on a little growth at the very top last month, but I hope it really takes off next year.
