Paridiso 9-19-13

Very tasty, creamy, a little figgy but the flavor is hard to put into words. Not melon or berry. Trying to find out more about the background of this fig. Not a Joe Morle fig. I gave it an 8.

How hearty do you find this in the humidity and rain?

Well, this is a new Paradiso for me and we have not had rain for four weeks now and it has done real good. The Paradiso (JM) does split
with lots of rain or watering during ripening.

Good looking fig whatever kind of Paradiso it is. I easily get confused when talking about Paradisos, I only grow one variety and have no idea which one it is.

Nice one Mike. How you compared this one to Brunswick.

To my taste, Brunswick doesn't compare at all to either of my Paradiso trees.

Looks delicious! Thanks for sharing!

Mike, I have the Joe M. variety and the eye is way more open than the one in your pic. If the weatherman even mentions rain in the forecast it starts to split. Since we've had so much rain here this year, I've been moving it in and out of the garage the past few weeks but it still splits a bit. My tree is disappointment. Your tree must be a better Paradiso than the one I got, it's even darker inside and out.

Tony, this one is NOT a Joe Morle Paradiso. I do have another one that is Joe Morle. and it is very different and it does split.

This does not look like a Paradiso (Gene Hosey) variant.

Mike what would you rate Joe's Paradiso at. Just curious. Last year all but a few of mine split so bad that they became yellow jacket/wasp feed and this year is not much better.  I'm about ready to get rid of it :(

Tony, its about the same here. The first ones to ripen this year were during the continuous rain and were not good due to
splitting. There are a good many more but none are ripening now so I dont know if I will get another chance this year. Last
year I had a few towards the end of the season that were pretty good.

Thank you Mike.
