I got rid of my tree - dropping figs. Plentiful variants available to take its spot.

Yes, This variety is known for dropping figs.

Paully and Bass , thank you for the feed-back .

In addition, when summers are rainy and cool, the entire main crop production may fall. This behavior is usually observed in Spring, on many breba croppers, when temperatures greatly vary, but very rarely on main crop production. However, it is easy to plant this fig tree on a south-facing wall to limit wind impacts, temperatures changes… and fruits drop.

I have a small tree and has a few figs on it. At what point does it drop its' fruit? When, where and how?

Pastiliere is a main crop variety. Rarely will it produce a breba crop. Apparently, there appears to be a strain still going around that drops its fruit. It is not true of all strains.

Zaitun, your tree looks very young. Give it more time. In the meantime, please post pictures of the leaf shapes, fruit (immature and ripe) and any other notable growing characteristics. Good luck!

Rafed, I cannot remember exactly but would say close to ripening

It drops fruits in the stagnant stage about 40 days after inception.
It does what some Celeste does, even worse.
I discarded mine.

Mine was a cutting from a very well known figster with a wide list of figs.
I started it 2010 and this is the first year it is producing fruit. It is still small and young so I hope what Ruben is saying it true.

I don't remember the source complaining about it at all.

If Zaitun doesn't have a problem with it then I will post some pics of mine later, If otherwise then I will post my own thread.

Rafed , Hermans and Brent Thank you for your information.

Ruben ,
The tree is now 2 years old , I got it from Baud Nursery.
The figs is not getting a  big size , its color turned to red on the small size then its dropped.

Thanks and Best regards

Yes My Pastilliere had Identical leaves just like yours.
Mine was from UC D Germaplasm, but it was identical to yours.

For the few figs that I could get, I decided I am better off trying other dark figs.

Zaitun, in your zone you are better off trying other dark variants. My brother's Osborne Prolific in Malaysia performed well and Ken Love Hawaiian fig study also points out Osborne Prolifc good attributes in productivity and sweet taste. Very high marks on sweetness. Overhere, this variant stands up to rain better than many other variants.

Thanks , Hermans...

Paul  Thanks , I had 1  OP from a kind person on this forum but its still on the small size.
We have sunshine all year long , but  the rain level in my area is high on November-January . Perhaps , some varieties such Madeline De Saxon, Dauphine and Pastilere would have difficulty to produce a good fruits .
I  keep hoping those varieties  would be able to mutate and  adapt naturally  in my climate some day. .

Zaitun
