I hope the fruit stays on and ripens for you this year.

Pastiliere is a fig I've been interested in (dark and yummy), but I've read so much about its fruits dropping that I've thought twice about trying to get it. Have you had good luck with it in prior years? Please keep us posted how those do.

Seems with each passing season it holds a little more of its crop this season i hope its even more as the figs are for me on personal note were excellent indeed and i can be a picky one but it must hold more to ripen properly than it loses if i keep it but i patiently give it more seasons .

Here is few pictures from 2010 and 2011showing
picture of nasty figs
picture of figs that were excellent  -mulberry taste with faint melon note afterwards.
tree display some ripe fruit.

In first 2 pictures you see the resin at end of fig that appears reddish in color which is deceiving its actually clear as the inside of fig reflect thru it to make it so.
The other picture look carefully at top of fig and you can see that resin after fig was cut and showing its clear not reddish at all.

As a note this is UcDavis cultivar infected with FmV just late in season where it waned from display in tree picture.

It looks as if your tree is holding on to a number of fruits. More than I would have guessed. Maybe I'll add that to my Davis list too. It's not as if it would be the only tree I had to depend on for fruit... They do look good, and in my warmer climate, maybe the virus wouldnt have such a negative effect. Though your tree does look healthy.

Thats the thing Gina i have other trees that give me plates and plates of figs that i eat at height of season i almost feel guilty when i post them and newer members see them  -naw not really. ; )
So one thats a problem tree is of no big deal and i can afford to give it a chance .

I hope for the best but would not hesitate to discard it . Time will tell for me.

Martin, does it ever have red shoots anytime? I can't see any pigmentation at all right now. Also I read that this fig does not transport well because of the delicate skin, would you agree?
