Pastiliere

A fellow sent me info on this product, Super Plus, which he says has shown some results in decreasing fruit drop in Pastiliere figs in Spain. He thought it might interest some people here. Might be interesting to try it on Celeste where fruit drop seems to be an issue, as well.

I can send a PDF in English, if some one want it.

I still cuss that fig plant Jon i should have sprayed it with roundup to give it a slow death instead of a quick burn in the can.
Darn thing teased me with some of the best tasting figs and it got its due .

I will take one of those pdfs, thank you Jon.

I have a Celeste that is dropping, oddly a young plant held onto 2 figs while the mother in ground 3 years only ripened one breba and dropped all of the main. I would prefer to have tons of Celeste figs next season than to dig it out.

jon, send me that pdf.

If you want lots of Celeste next year, get yourself an ,Improved Celeste(O Rourke not),and you will.
Many regular Celeste disappointed me for the same reason,as your problem.
It is in the genes ,to disappoint.
Here is one Improved Celeste in one gallon pot ,1.5 years old.
It is really improved!

I probably will replace it, I still have more space to plant right now though. That is a very nice plant.

Picked a Pastiliere {UCD source} this morning. Tree is in its third season, fruit was excellent tasting. Started with 4 fruits ended with 2 that held on....... Angelo Zone 7a NY

Awesome.  I have both Pastiliere and Unknown Pastiliere, looking forward to both.

seems to be mostly CaO, and N. along with some growth hormone. i'll just pump fertilizer and dolomite lime and see what happens.

I'd love one, thanks.

Martin - now that's funny too, made me laugh.  I have to say that the Figs4Fun members have a sense of humor.

I believe the best product for fig trees is manure. Trees look wonderful, the fruits are bigger and keeps away nematodes. On top of that, if well composted, it does not burn.
The soil instead of accumulating salts and becoming weak, with manure it is enriched.
I am not talking about Black Cow, I am pointing at the real thing, the one you get from a place where there are barn animals. Just make certain it is well composted.
Try it: you will never go back!

long line at the Zoo for Zoodoo, they call it and give away in early Spring with Lottery.  I may have to put my name in that list.  Got Chickens and one bunny, but that is not enough, huh?
