I like to take steps fast with my figs...But  Ill keep my unknowns in small pots root bound-maybe ill get figs for their 1st year

Nice tree Pete.  Pretty, big, dark green leaves.  Whatever you're doing, that Pastilieri likes it; very fast growth.  I too have a Pastilieri, but it is unknown Pastilieri from UCD.

Good luck with it!

Pete here was my UcDavis Pastiliere last season and after much aggravation i took it to the burn can yet it hurt to destroy it, out of many i discarded as the few figs i ate from it that fully ripened from it were some of the best on my palate.
It grew well despite its FmV.

martin, i also have Pastiliere UCD growing that i rooted in march. that one has bit more FMV showing, and not growing as fast, but it still has few leaves on it. the progress seems to be slower and the leaves are little more distorted, but too early in the stage to say if it's just due to stress of up potting and what not. will be monitoring both on how they do. another UCD Pastiliere is still in the cup and it's has not broke the terminal bud yet, but good set of roots.

your tree looked very healthy from what i can see. don't noticed any heavy FMV issue. more or less like any other "healthy" fig tree.

i have two Pastiliere Baud. one will be planted on the east side of the house. limited sun. more or less morning and early afternoon. other will be kept in container and placed on north side of the how where it won't get afternoon sun, but morning and evening sun. i'm planning to layer them both with lime and pump fertilizer on them and keep the one in container more dry. will see how they turn out.

some figs like being watered, but some figs don't seems to like being watered all that much. yesterday, i watered all my 1 gal. put lime on them, and gave fertilizer also. soon after i noticed that both Pastiliere leaves all drooping really bad. i'm sure it will perk up soon enough, but there are few others showing similar sign. most of the other figs were showing very lively leaves. some that were looking down were very perky. Pastiliere leaves were very perky when the container was dry, but soon after the watering and other stuff, they looked like they were able to die on me. weird.
