Pastiliere progress.

about a month ago, i was very lucky to obtain number of Pastiliere cuttings from very generous forum member. they are not from UCD, but from baud.

the cuttings rooted just fine, and they started putting on the figs. i moved them into the cups and removed the figs. now it has number of small leaves coming out. i'll be monitoring the root growth progress on this to see how they grow.

i did place order with UCD for Pastiliere cuttings. if they do send some, i'll monitor both to see if there are any difference.

as everyone knows, Pastiliere drops figs. martin has had his heart broken by this amazing fig. i'll try few things to see if there is any possible way to keep the figs on the tree.. at least more than the ones that will drop.

Pete we can compare trees next year. Plus I have 2 Rouge de Bordeauxs directly from the UK. They will be compared too.

dennis,

i have 4 that rooted and in cup now. i would love to see your Rouge de Bordeaux when they are ripen along with leaves. keep hearing Rouge dB is same as Pastiliere, but i guess direct comparison is the only way to tell.

Rouge i also have that i had concentrated on growth not figs .
Although i destroyed Pasitilere its embedded in my memory banks that CRS has no effect on.
I will know next season whats what about my Rouge de Bordeaux.
If they match and fall like Pastiliere it will meet the same fate a very hot flaming one for i will no longer babysit any more plants that refuse my care.

martin,

does your Rouge dB leaves look anything like your Pastiliere that went down the flaming 50 gal drum?

Martin, can you please save a cutting for me before the ball of flame ending?

Bullet its to young and was growing much to fast last season in time i will know as there were certain things with my Pastiliere that can be defined with its leaf, its limbs hardening and certainly its fruit taste.
